സുഹൃത്തുക്കളെ,

വിമത ലൈംഗികത ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിയ്ക്കുന്ന രാഷ്ട്രീയ മുദ്രാവാക്യങ്ങളുമായി കേരളം ആറാമത് ലൈംഗിക സ്വാഭിമാന ഘോഷയാത്ര 2015 ജൂലൈ 11 ശനിയാഴ്ച തലസ്ഥാന നഗരിയില്‍ ആഘോഷപൂര്‍വ്വം സംഘടിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയാണ്. 2009 ജൂലായ് മാസത്തിൽ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ശിക്ഷാ നിയമം 377 വകുപ്പിന് ഡെല്‍ഹി ഹൈക്കോടതി നടത്തിയ ചരിത്രപരമായ പുനര്‍വായനയുടെ ഓര്‍മ്മ പുതുക്കാനും ലൈംഗിക ന്യൂനപക്ഷ സമുദായാംഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കും പൊതുസമൂഹത്തിനും ഒന്നിച്ചു വരാനും നമ്മുടെ സാന്നിധ്യം രാഷ്ട്രീയപരമായി തന്നെ അറിയിക്കാനും വേണ്ടിയായിരുന്നു കേരളത്തിലും ലൈംഗിക സ്വാഭിമാന ഘോഷയാത്രയും അനുബന്ധ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളും ക്വിയർ പ്രൈഡ് കേരളത്തിന്റെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ തുടങ്ങി വച്ചത്. എന്നാൽ ക്വിയർ പ്രൈഡ് ആഘോഷങ്ങൾ ഇന്ന് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പരമോന്നത നീതിപീഠം ബഹുമാനപ്പെട്ട ഡെല്‍ഹി ഹൈക്കോടതി നടത്തിയ പുനർവായന റദ്ദാക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു നടത്തിയ വിധി പ്രസ്ഥാവനയ്ക്കെതിരായ പ്രതിഷേധം കൂടിയാണ്. കൂടാതെ വിമതലൈംഗികതയെറിച്ചും സ്വവർഗ്ഗ പ്രണയിതാക്കളെക്കുറിച്ചും ദൈനംദിന ജീവിതത്തിൽ അനുഭവിച്ഛുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന അവഗണനകളും അതിക്രമങ്ങളും വിഷമതകളും പുറം ലോകത്തോട് പറയാനും ഞങ്ങളുടെ സ്വയം നിർണ്ണയാവകാശം ഊട്ടിയുറപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനായുള്ള ഒരവസരമായും ഞങ്ങൾ കണക്കാക്കുന്നു. ഇത്തരം രാഷ്ട്രീയ ഇടപെടലുകളിലൂടെ സ്വന്തം ലൈംഗികതയെക്കുരിച്ഛും ലിംഗ സ്വത്വത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും തുറന്നു പറയാൻ കഴിയാതെ പോകുന്ന ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിനാളുകൾക്ക് ആത്മധൈര്യം പകരാൻ കഴിയുമെന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നു. ജനാധിപത്യവിശ്വാസികളായ മുഴുവൻ വ്യക്തികളും സംഘടനകളും വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥി സമൂഹവും മാധ്യമ പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളും ചലച്ചിത്ര കൂട്ടായ്മകളും കലാ സാംസ്കാരിക മനുഷ്യാവകാശ പാരിസ്തിതിക രംഗത്തു പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നവരും ഗവണ്മെന്റ് ഗവണ്മെന്റിതര സംഘടനകളും കൂട്ടായ്മകളും ലിംഗ ലൈംഗിക വ്യത്യസ്തതകളുടെ രാഷ്ട്രീയം വിളിച്ചോതുന്ന ഈ അതിജീവന പോരാട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാവുവാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ വിനീതമായി അഭ്യർത്ഥിക്കുകയാണ്.

കഴിഞ്ഞ മൂന്നു പതിറ്റാണ്ടിലേറെയായി സ്വന്തം അവകാശങ്ങള്‍ക്കും തുല്ല്യ സാമൂഹിക പദവിയ്ക്കുമായി ഒരു ജനത നടത്തുന്ന അതിജീവന സമരത്തെ ഇനിയും അവഗണിക്കുന്നത് പുരോഗമനവാദികളെന്നും അഭ്യസ്ഥ വിദ്യരെന്നവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന നമ്മുടേതുപോലെയുള്ള ഒരു സമൂഹത്തിനു ഭൂഷണമല്ല. സ്വവര്ഗ്ഗ പ്രണയവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട്ട് കേരളത്തിന്‌ പുറത്തുള്ള വിവിധ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ നിയമ നിര്മ്മാണ നിർവ്വഹണ വിഭാഗങ്ങൾ കഴിഞ്ഞ കാലങ്ങളിൽ കൈക്കൊണ്ട പല പുരോഗമനപരമായ ആശയങ്ങളും പുരുഷമേധാവിത്വ സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ സമ്മർദ്ദങ്ങൾക്ക് വഴങ്ങി കണ്ടില്ലെന്നു നടിക്കുന്നത് പൗരാവകാശങ്ങൾ നിഷേധിക്കുന്നതിന് തുല്ല്യമാണ്. മറ്റ് രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ട്രാൻസ്ജെൻഡർ സമുദായാംഗങ്ങൾക്കും സ്വവര്ഗ്ഗ പ്രണയിതാക്കൾക്കും നല്കുന്ന പ്രത്യേക പരിഗണനയും സ്നേഹവും കരുതലും എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരങ്ങൾക്കും സുഹ്രുത്തുക്കൾക്കും നമ്മുക്ക് നല്കാൻ കഴിയാത്തത്? സമൂഹം പുരുഷകേന്ദ്രീകൃതമായി നിർമ്മിച്ച സംവിധാനങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളിൽ നിൽക്കാത്ത, ആണത്തത്തിന്റെയും സ്ത്രീത്വത്തിന്റെയും ലക്ഷണശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ ഒതുങ്ങാത്ത മനസ്സുകളേയും ശരീരങ്ങളേയും മറ്റ് എന്തിനേയും അസ്വാഭാവികവും അശ്ലീലവും പ്രകൃതി വിരുദ്ധവുമായി മുദ്രകുത്തി ജയിലിലും ഭ്രാന്താശുപത്രികളിലും തളയ്ക്കാൻ ശ്രമിയ്ക്കുന്നത് മനുഷ്യാവകാശങ്ങൾക്കെതിരായ കടന്നു കയറ്റം തന്നെയല്ലേ? സ്വവര്ഗ്ഗപ്രണയം എന്നത് വളരെ ജൈവീകവും സ്വാഭാവികവുമായ ഒന്നാണെന്നും സ്വവര്‍ഗ്ഗപ്രണയത്തോടും പ്രണയിതാക്കളോടുമുള്ള അസാധാരണമായ പേടിയും അവഗണനയുമാണ് മനുഷ്യാവകാശ നിഷേധം എന്ന് നാം മനസ്സിലാക്കേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ആണും പെണ്ണും പോലെ , ആണും ആണും, പെണ്ണും പെണ്ണുമെല്ലാം പ്രേമിക്കട്ടെ, വ്യത്യസ്തങ്ങളായ ലിംഗ സ്വത്വങ്ങൾ പുറംതോടു പൊട്ടിച്ചു വർണ്ണ ചിറകുകളുമായി പറക്കട്ടെ. സ്വതന്ത്രമായ ലൈംഗികതയുടെ പുതിയ സമവാക്യങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യർക്കിടയിൽ ഇതളിടട്ടെ.

ഇത് നിലനില്പ്പിന്റെ ശരീരങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതങ്ങളുടെ ആഘോഷമാണ്...വ്യത്യസ്തതകളുടെ ആനന്ദവും രാഷ്ട്രീയവും വിളിച്ചോതി...

വിവിധവും വിഭിന്നങ്ങളുമായ ലൈംഗികതകളെയും ലിംഗപദവികളെയും ആഘോഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു് കേരളം അതിന്റെനാലാമത്തെ മഴവില്ലുത്സവത്തിനു വേദിയാവുകയാണു്. ലോകമെമ്പാടുമുള്ള ലെസ്ബിയൻ, ഗേ, ബൈസെക്ഷ്വൽ,ട്രാൻസ്ജെൻഡർ വിഭാഗങ്ങളിൽപ്പെടുന്നവരുടെയും ഇത്തരം ലൈംഗികബദലുകളെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുന്നവരുടേയുംആഘോഷമാണ് ക്വിയർ പ്രൈഡ്. പ്രണയത്തിന്റെയും, പരസ്പരബഹുമാനത്തിന്റെയും അന്തസ്സിന്റെയുംആത്മാഭിമാനത്തിന്റെയും ആഘോഷം.

ഈ ദിനത്തിന്റെ സന്തോഷത്തിൽ പങ്കു ചേരാൻ നിങ്ങളോരോരുത്തരേയും ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നു.

ഞങ്ങളോ ഞങ്ങളുയർത്തിപ്പിടിക്കുന്ന രാഷ്ട്രീയമോ സമകാലിക കേരളത്തിനു വളരെ പുതിയ ഒന്നല്ല. പ്രത്യേകിച്ചുംതൃശ്ശൂർ,  ഒന്നിലേറെ തവണ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആഘോഷങ്ങൾക്ക്‌ സാക്ഷ്യം വഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടു്. സ്വവർഗ്ഗലൈംഗികതകുറ്റകൃത്യമായി കാണുന്ന ഐ.പി.സി 377ആം വകുപ്പു് പുനഃപരിശോധിയ്ക്കണമെന്നാവശ്യപ്പെടുന്ന ഡൽഹിഹൈക്കോടതി വിധിയുടെ നാലാം വാർഷികദിനമാണു് ഇന്നു് (2013 ജൂലൈ 2). ബദൽ ലൈംഗികസ്വഭാവരീതിയു­ള്ളവരെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം ഈ കോടതി വിധി ഒരു ചരിത്രമുഹൂർത്തമായതിനാലാണു് ഞങ്ങൾ ഈ ദിനംഇത്തരത്തിൽ ആഘോഷമാക്കുന്നതു് . ഇതു ഞങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും പുറംലോകത്തോടുപറയാനും ഞങ്ങളുടെ സ്വയംനിർണ്ണയാവകാശം ഊട്ടിയുറപ്പിക്കുവാനുമുള്ള ഒരവസരമായി ഞങ്ങൾകണക്കാക്കുന്നു. ഇത്തരം ആഘോഷ­ങ്ങളിലൂടെ സ്വന്തം ലൈംഗികതയോ ലിംഗപദവിയോ അംഗീകരിക്കാനും തുറന്നുപറയാനും കഴിയാതെപോകുന്ന കോടിക്കണക്കിനാളുകൾക്കു് ആത്മധൈര്യം പകരാൻ കഴിയുമെന്നു് ഞങ്ങൾപ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതം ഞങ്ങളാഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന രീതിയിൽ ജീവിക്കാനുള്ള അടിസ്ഥാനാവകാശം പോലുംനിഷേധിക്കുന്ന, ഭരണകൂടത്തിന്റെയും സമൂഹത്തിന്റെയും അടി­ച്ചമർത്തലുകളോടും വിവേചനങ്ങളോടുമുള്ളപ്രതിഷേധം കൂടിയാണു് ഇന്നത്തെ ഈ  ആഘോഷം.

ഡെൽഹി ഹൈക്കോടതി വിധിയെ അതിന്റെ പൂര്‍ണ്ണതയില്‍ത്തന്നെ സുപ്രീം കോടതി ശരിവ­യ്ക്കണം എന്നും, അങ്ങനെനമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്തെ ലൈംഗികന്യൂനപക്ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു് മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ക്കുതുല്യ­മായ അവകാശങ്ങളും അവരുടെ ജീവനുസുരക്ഷിതത്വവും പ്രദാനം ചെയ്യണമെന്നും ഞങ്ങള്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നു. അതിലൂടെ  സ്വയം സൃഷ്ടിച്ച ഒളിയിടങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന്പുറത്തുവരാനും, തങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റിയും തങ്ങളുടെ ആഗ്രഹങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റിയും സംസാരിക്കാനും, ആരെയും പേടിക്കാതെ സ്വയംആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ജീവിക്കാനും ലൈംഗികന്യൂനപക്ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു് സാധിക്കുമെന്നും ഞങ്ങള്‍ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.ഇതെല്ലാം നടക്കാന്‍ നിയമനിര്‍മ്മാണം മാത്രം മതിയാവില്ലെന്നും നമുക്കറിയാം. നമ്മുടെ ഇഷ്ടങ്ങളെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ളവർസ്വാഭാവികമായും സാധാരണമായും കാണുന്ന ഒരു നാളെയാണു് നമ്മള്‍ സ്വപ്നം കാണുന്നതു് . വസ്ത്രധാരണം മുതല്‍ പ്രണയിക്കുന്നതിലും പങ്കാളിയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നതിലും വരെ നമുക്കു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം തരുന്ന, പരമ്പരാഗത­രീതിയിലുള്ളആണ്‍-പെണ്‍ വിവാഹബന്ധങ്ങള്‍ ആരുടേയും മേല്‍ അടിച്ചേല്‍പ്പിക്കാത്ത സുന്ദരമായൊരു നാളെ. അതിനു് നമ്മൾജീവിക്കുന്ന സമൂഹത്തില്‍ സൗഹാര്‍ദ്ദപരമായ ഒരന്തരീക്ഷം ഉണ്ടാവേണ്ടതും നിയമങ്ങള്‍ വേണ്ടവിധം പാലിക്കപ്പെടുന്നുഎന്നു് ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തേണ്ടതും ഒരുപോലെ ആവശ്യമാണെന്നു് ഞങ്ങള്‍ തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.

കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷം നമ്മെ വിട്ടു പിരിഞ്ഞ രണ്ടു പ്രിയകൂട്ടുകാരെ ഈയവസരത്തിൽ ദുഃഖത്തോടെ ഞങ്ങളോർക്കുകയാണു്.തന്റെ താമസസ്ഥലത്ത്‌ വെച്ച്‌ ക്രൂരമായി കൊല ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ട, നമ്മുടെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട അനിൽ/മരിയ. തന്റെ ട്രാൻസ്ജെൻഡർഐഡന്റിറ്റി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു് പര­സ്യമായി പുറത്തു വന്ന മരിയ കേരളത്തിൽ ക്വിയർ പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിനുനേതൃത്വം കൊടുത്തവരിലൊരാളായിരുന്നു. തന്റെ സൗന്ദര്യവും വശ്യതയും കൊണ്ടു് കഴിഞ്ഞ ക്വിയർപരേഡുകളിലെല്ലാം കേന്ദ്രബിന്ദുവായി മാറിയിരുന്നു മരിയ. മറ്റൊരു സുഹൃത്തു് തന്റെ സംഗീതം കൊണ്ടു ക്വിയർപരേഡിനു താളവും ജീവനും നല്കിയവൻ, കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷം സ്വയം ജീവനൊടുക്കി. ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന കാലമത്രയുംരഹസ്യാത്മകതയിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞ ഒരാളായതിനാൽ ആ പ്രിയസുഹൃത്തിന്റെ പേരു് ഞങ്ങളിവിടെ പരാമർശിക്കുന്നില്ല. ഒരുവ്യക്തിയുടെ സ്വത്വമായ പേരു പോലും വെളിപ്പെടുത്താനാവാത്ത ഈ നിസ്സഹായതയിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ലജ്ജിച്ച്‌ തലതാഴ്ത്തുന്നു. അവനോടും അവനെപ്പോലെ രഹസ്യജീവിതം ജീവിക്കേണ്ടി വരുന്ന അനേകം പേരോടും സദാചാരകേരളംമാപ്പു പറയേണ്ടതുണ്ടു്. 2010,2011 വർഷങ്ങളിലെ ക്വിയർ പ്രൈഡിനെ വർണശബളവും താളനിർഭരവുമാക്കിയ ഈപ്രിയ കൂട്ടുകാരുടെ ഓർമ്മകൾ­ക്കുമുന്നിൽ ഞങ്ങളീ ക്വിയർ പരേഡ്‌ സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

പ്രണയവും സന്തോഷവും നിറഞ്ഞ അന്തസ്സുള്ളൊരു ജീവിതത്തിനുവേണ്ടി പൊരുതുന്ന, അനേ­കായിരം ആളുകളുടെകൂടെ കൈ കോർക്കാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിത­ങ്ങളെ കെട്ടുകഥകളിലുംഊഹാപോഹങ്ങളിലും കെട്ടിയിടാതെ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളെ നിസ്സാരവല്‍ക്കരിക്കാതെ, ഉത്തരവാദിത്തത്തോടു കൂടിഞങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതങ്ങളെ സമീപിക്കു­വാനും മുന്‍വിധികളില്ലാതെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കഥകള്‍ കേള്‍ക്കുവാനും കാണുവാനുംഎഴുതുവാനും മാ­ധ്യമങ്ങളോട് ഞങ്ങള്‍ അഭ്യര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.

Despite an amendment in the law, sexual minorities in the state say they are still a traumatised lot

While the LGBT (lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender) community in several metro cities took to the streets to actively participate in the Gay Pride Walk, their counterparts in Kerala had to be satisfied with a small rally in Calicut, that too after a lot of deliberation by activists.

The Gay Pride Walk is conducted in Thrissur every year. However, this year, the members of the community thought of a venue change and planned to organise it in Calicut, which is a more conservative city. Nevertheless, the rally was not a success, if the number of participants is anything to go by.

The brutal murder of an activist two months prior to the rally is the reason cited by the sexual minorities in the state to stay away from the walk. "A queer activist and media professional Anil Sadhanandhan's brutal murder was a big blow to the members of the community," recalls Ajay, manager of a project for the welfare of sexual minorities. The sudden change in location contributed to the non-participation, he says.

"Every year, we have been conducting it in Thrissur, which is more liberal than Calicut," points out Sanjesh, a representative of a sexual minorities' organisation.

Ironically, a state like Kerala, which has the highest literacy rate in the country, is quite backward when it comes to respecting the sexuality of individuals, say members of the community in the state.

Almost three years after the judiciary decriminalised consensual sex among homosexuals, the community members say an underlying insecurity still exist. "The community is looked down upon and even termed as mentally ill, and ostracised by friends and family," says Sunil Menon, a Chennai-based fashion choreographer and a gay community activist.

Sunil recounts an incident of an NRI teenage boy from Chennai who was admitted to a mental asylum when he confessed his sexual orientation to a priest. "After a lot of intervention by activists, the hospital was forced to discharge the boy, who is now totally cut off from society," Sunil says, adding that fighting against such societal pressures, jeers and threats is not easy.

"The sexual minorities reveal their identity and share their problems openly only within the community," says Ajay.

The state has four organisations for the welfare of gays and lesbians, which conduct get-togethers every three months and an annual get together on a south-India level basis, to raise the awareness on HIV and AIDs prevention and to be comfortable being themselves wherever they are. "They also discuss their feelings or share any incidents they have encountered with each other during such gatherings," says Sunil.

Ajay feels the community members, instead of blogging and social networking, should come out in the open if they want public support.

Queer Pride March, Keralam- 2011

Keralam is celebrating its second Queer Pride at Thrissur on July 2nd, 2011. Queer Pride is celebrated around the world by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people and their supporters. Queer Pride is a celebration. It is about loving who we are, whether lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, hijra or straight and affirming every-one's right to be respected.

July 2nd of 2009 is the day when the Delhi High court decriminalized homosexuality by rereading section 377 of Indian Penal code. We celebrate pride on this day as we see the judgment as a historical moment in the lives of queer people.

We will gather at the Vidyarthi Corner(Located inside the Thekkinkadu Kshethra Maithanam, Thrissur)  at 3.30PM and the Pride Parade will start from there at 4PM and will end at the Kerala Sahithya Academy- Basheer Vedi at 5.30PM. Then we will gather there for the public meeting and the cultural programmes by the community members and supporters.
